In 2010, I started planning my own wedding.

I had never been one of those girls who had dreamed of the big day in all its intricate detail. I hadn’t been secretly hoarding wedding magazines.

Yet, as soon as the planning began, I became completely enraptured with everything to do with the day. I realised how much choice was out there for the modern bride, whether you’re on a shoestring or about to spend your life savings. I became completely surrounded by mood boards, magazines, blogs and other brilliant online resources.

My now husband and I were fortunate with our wedding. We had time, plenty of ideas and found good suppliers who could fulfill them. We had a magical day.

I originally started theweddinghunter when I realised how much I was going to miss wedding planning. I wanted to make a blog that worked a bit like my brain – everything in easy-to-find categories with a lot a visuals and advice, not purely focused on the “pretty.”

This blog has grown in time – the appetite for wedding inspiration is obviously large!

Now, whilst slightly UK skewed, it is an international inspiration blog for all types of couple. As an expat myself, having moved from the UK to Amsterdam , I know the best ideas can come from anywhere and any place!
