Dennis Wilson of the Beach Boys said “On the Beach you can live in bliss.” He was right. But more than this, on the beach you can also marry in bliss.
I’m a south coast baby. I grew up near the sea, with the beach as my regular playground. Very lucky indeed. As a result, I’ve been to many weddings that have a beach twist. It’s a theme that leads easily to inspiration for your wedding day.
Sadly, I’m yet to attend a wedding on a beach in a hot climate, but I’m open to invites . . .
If you’re a beach lover, or lucky enough to be holding a beach wedding, I’ve starting hunting inspiration for your beach themed wedding below. Now where’s my sun cream?
Beach Wedding : Wedding Stationery
Start as you mean to go on by choosing beach themed stationery. This example above via The wedding invitation Boutique is spot on with its gold tones and the addition of a starfish. Perfect.
Beach Wedding : Bridalwear

Generally speaking, as a beach bride, you’re less likely to opt for a structured wedding dress and more likely to lean towards a flowing gown. This may because, as so nicely proved by the image above, it allows you to float barefoot across the sand, bathed in the light of the setting sun. If only.
Speaking of floating barefoot, you can get “wedding sandals” for the beach that add some glamour to your bare toes, like these crystal ones // Etsy
Beach Wedding : Groomswear
I absolutely adore this idea for a buttonhole, which uses a tied shell rather than a flower. It couldn’t be more perfect for a beach wedding, and the pale grey suit just visible is also fabulous [ image : here ]

Beach Wedding : Bridesmaids
Assuming (hoping, praying) that your beach wedding is blessed with sunshine, then it opens up some fantastic options for bridesmaid dresses. Bright colours and short lengths are both highly appropriate. These short coral dresses, complete with bare feet in the sand, are perfect.
A completely different idea would be to go bright and playful, like this fun and fantastic 50′s styled hawaiian print bridesmaid dress from Oh My Honey.
Beach Wedding : Wedding Decor

Sunflowers are an excellent choice for a beach wedding. Take a leaf / whole flower out this book and opt for white wood chairs with sunflower bunches at the end for your aisle [ image : here ].

Your wedding reception may not be physically planted on the beach, but you can still thief inspiration from this decor design. Think wooden furniture, dusky mediterranean tones and keep it simple.
Beach Wedding : Wedding Favours

Finally, you may be liberal enough to allow your guests to attend your whole beachy day in flip-flops … if not, why not provide pairs for them? The girls will love you for it when those heels start to hurt as they hit the dance floor. You can find them in multiple shades via Little Wedding Ideas.
Or, if you’d rather go for a more durable wedding favour, We Do Company have these lovely flip-flop bottle top openers.
