HUNTED: { Wedding Cake – Clever Cupcake Ideas }
…………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………….
I’ve already found you a whole host of extraordinary cakes, clearly made by masterly baking hands. Now comes the turn of the humble cupcake.
Proving that great things come in small packages, enjoy the visual feast of cupcakery below.

Cupcake Towers
…………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………….

Cupcakes could be used as an alternative to the traditional wedding cake. If you still want to have the stature of a large cake, consider commissioning a cupcake tower like this one above via Wonderland Bakery. You can get creative with colours, flavours (anything from coffee to carrot to cookie) and assembly, then relish tucking in post dinner as they taste like a little dream. Just the one issue – which cake to cut?!

Floral Cupcakes
…………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………….

Cupcakes can be iced to match your day in almost any conceivable form. If sunflowers are your dominant flower, for example, you could consider sunflower iced cupcakes.

Equally, if your blooms are featuring pink gerberas, you might want to take a leaf out this cupcake book.

If your accent flower is a pink rose, take inspiration from these romantic designs, complete with little notes, via The Couture Cake Company.

Themed Cupcakes
…………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………….

Away from flowers and towards overall theming. If your wedding is of the nautical bent, just have a look at the amazing works that’s gone into this cupcake tower with everything from mermaids to miniature boats on board. [ image courtesy of Little Wedding Ideas ].

Your theme may be as simple as the season you’re getting married. If yours is a Winter wedding, for example, you could consider cupcakes with snowflake decorations on top like this delicious looking example [ image : here ].

If your “theme” is as simple as small associations with a passion of yours, cupcakes are a good medium to express on. If you’re both music lovers, why not create an iced stave on your cakes like in this image .

Coloured Cupcakes
…………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………….

Or, you can base the topping around your colours. If you have a wedding with grey / purple dominant – and a good helping of sparkle – go for a time like this fabulous night sky design. [ image : Solid Recipe ].

Equally if you have orange tones running through the day, make like these beauties and sprinkle some tangerine on top. [ image : The Swell Life ].

Creative Cupcakes

And finally, if you don’t have any sort of theme, but just love cupcakes, then go to town in any way you please. Like this creation, overflowing with M&M topped chocolatey goodness. [ image : here ]

Cupcakes : you have been hunted.
Have any of these designs really whet your appetite?
Or do you think a wedding should always include a full size wedding cake?

Thank you! Usually couples choose a small cutting cake to go on top of the tower to cut, oherwise they pose with the knife in the stand but dont cut the cupcakes!
